Bruce Swedien   - Masterclass (Florida)

In late 2009, Rob returned from a whirlwind trip in the USA where he was accepted to a week long mxing/engineering masterclass with legend and Godfather of recording - Bruce Swedien.  Bruce was the engineering genius behind Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album and winner of five Grammy awards for various his recordings since the 1950's.  It was an honour to be in his company and learn from such an amazing guy.

Royer microphones

As part of my schedule whilst in the States, I got to meet and hang out with Royer Labs' co-owner John Jennings.  It's great to see people so committed to their products and my matched pair of R-122's are an outstanding addition to the Soundbaker studio- they suit my production style perfectly.

George Massenburg  - Masterclass (Australia)

In August 2009, Rob attended a mix masterclass with the legendary George Massenburg in Australia. Only a few were chosen to be part of this once in a lifetime event which will continue to be an inspiration for many years to come.
