The Jade Diary are a mixture of the pop elements of Fleetwood Mac (with vocalist and main songwriter Cheryl Lim reminiscent of Stevie Nicks in her vocal delivery) with some folk and light rock. This is a slick, professional EP with carefully-chosen songs, strong production work by Soundbaker Studio and lovely artwork. Overall, Landscape of Dreams is a strong and musically-mature release from a promising group. I was especially impressed with the arrangements and I look forward to hearing more material. -Cissi Tsang - Perthbands.com

'It’s rare to hear such eclectic tracks on an EP, but this diversity is never isolating. The use of old style electronics and synthesizers and Nelson’s pure vocals unifies the songs, making the transition between these different moods easy." - LKATULKA (ozmusicscene.com) March 31st, 2008
"Every tune this guy makes is magical. It's been a pleasure to see him grow so much this last year as an artist and I really have a ton of faith in his music. If I a million dollars to give away, I'd give it to Nelson. His song 'You Me Us We' is the biggest international hit that the world hasn't heard yet". Raj Rudolph Editor - Electroqueer Magazine 2007

"the Begovich sisters' latest 4 track EP is so damn fine it is worthy of a mention. The Perth based duo has toured consistently over the past couple of years and supported such acts as Jewel, Sarah Mclachlan and Ben Folds and have built up a steady following. Nadija and Adriana's vocals are sweet, innocent and emotive, the harmonies inspiring and the production impeccable. This long awaited third offering consists of four perfectly crafted acoustic pop ballads which should launch Blanche DuBois onto the next level." Greg Milby - Perth Woman Magazine 2005.
"Blanche Dubois is the work of two sisters, Nadija and Adriana Begovich who have made use of their acoustic guitars to create music full of feeling and presence without being overly loud or complicated. This release is dedicated to the hopeless romantics and serial heartbreakers in society as the catchy lyrics serenade you and fill the room with a compelling atmosphere that is both sweet and impressible. Blanche Dubois also put to use the theory less is more by not over crowding this EP with unnecessary produced extras - making Love Only Hurts an exceptional release free of the extra clutter a lot of bands fall into. Love Only Hurts is for listeners who enjoy subtly, simply guitar and luscious vocals as well as an ability to chill and take it all in. Definitely worth the buy for those who wish to support local music". Review by Peter La Tengo, TSUNAMI MAGAZINE - Queensland 4/5 Stars
"Almost everybody has been there. Slumped over the couch after coming home at three o'clock in the morning when you've had a bit too much to drink and sobbing hysterically over some worthless and probably unreciprocated infatuation. Western Australia's grande dames of the acoustic revival Blanche DuBois have now provided you with a soundtrack for such moments as these. The title track takes the pop-ballad genre to new heights of intelligences with incredibly smooth vocal harmonies and production that creates a sound so silky you could wear it to bed. Lover Do You Wait verges on being classified as adult-contemporary or listening but is brought back from the dark abyss by warm laying of guitar, drums and vocals. The most uplifting song is Amsterdam 3am, influenced in no small measure by Tori Amos, though sounding a little more conventional and accessible. Lose Myself is the musical equivalent of having your hair stroked comfortingly, the angelically high voices of sisters Nadija and Adriana Begovich amplified in such a way that it sounds as though they are singing right into your ear. But be warned, this album may inspire one to go and find a heartbreaker, as you'll be looking for as many excuses as possible to have another listen." Review by Andrea Blake. "What started out as a straight up pisstake rock track has evolved into the debut single for Kingpin’s forthcoming remixed version of the full length album, Say Yeah!. Killing Rock ‘N’ Roll old and new is included on this single. The new version (Soundbaker Mix) says ‘bye bye’ to the shadowed guitars and brings that chunky riff right to the forefront of the track. In fact, everything’s crisper and although its as stock as rock can get you certainly appreciate it more when you hear every instrument. The only thing missing is the rock and rock ending, but you can still get your kicks from the old version – which we’re told is on the disc for that very reason". Natalie Schmeiss (Xpress Magazine – New Noise)

"Paradoxx is back with their sophomore release "Atomika" under Cold Fusion Music. Ralph, Lissa, and Phoenix have followed through in creating an album that far surpasses its predecessor "New Devotion". Their style has progressed into a club friendly Nu-Electro sound, while still incorporating elements of the underground such as Goth and Industrial. The audio production and visuals speak top quality and professionalism. Paradoxx started in 1996 and has been developing their unique blend of progressive synthpop/euro-dance with sharp female fronted vocals. Their music has been embraced both by the club scene and the radio airways throughout the world. The band's debut album "New Devotion" was released in 1999 on Isis Records and City Hall Distribution. Their Goth-electro club sound attracted a huge fan base devoted to their unique style and positive vibe. With equal amounts of synthpop/EBM and industrial rock to be found, Paradoxx surpasses all expectations, creating one of the most addictive, entertaining releases of 2004." (Richard Maaranen - Automata Magazine) "Cyber-kinky-punk image of the band perfectly fits into their sound... This is a real enjoyable album full of dance power!" (Side-Line Music Magazine)
